Coffee Carnevale

Coffee Carnevale Saturday 1 November?

main-banner-01.jpg

To celebrate the reinvigoration of Lane Cove Plaza, Lane Cove Council will be hosting a Coffee Carnevale event on Saturday 1 November from 9.30am.

The event will be a blend of coffee and culture in Lane Cove Plaza featuring live entertainment, roving performers and a latte-art barista competition. There will be a buzz (not just from the coffee) with stilt-walkers, Brazilian drummers, jugglers, facepainters and hula-hoopers all making an appearance on the day along with special guests from Speed Stacks Australia. Speed Stacks will surely be a hit with local children who are keen on this popular cup-stacking sport also being given an opportunity to participate in a special championship at 12noon. Find out more...

A variety of local and visiting stalls will be on-hand with coffee related products such as coffee themed food, paraphernalia and craft as well as in-store promotions in participating businesses. Amongst all of this will be barista demonstrations and coffee tastings – locals can also try their hand at some Latte Art or an Aeropress Brewer.

The afternoon will include a Latte Art Smackdown run by the Australian Specialty Coffee Association. The competition is open to all baristas around Sydney and baristas from our local cafes will also be attending. The entry fee is $10 with at least $300 prize money up for grabs! Pre-registrations are being accepted up until 5pm Friday 31 October with registrations accepted on-site on the day of the event. Register online...

To help the excitement brew in the week leading up to the Coffee Carnevale, locals have a chance to enter the draw to win a fabulous Bugatti Italy 'Diva' coffee machine valued at $999, donated by SANREMO Coffee Machines Australia. By purchasing a cup of coffee, tea or other hot beverage at participating cafes in Lane Cove, participants can enter the draw to win this fabulous machine. The winner will be drawn between 2pm-3pm at the Carnevale event. Visit your local cafe next week to participate (terms and conditions available in-store and online).

A full schedule of times for events and activities and a map of special offers from participating businesses will be released in the days leading up to the event. For further information please contact Council's Manager, Communications and Events on 9911 3616.
